WorkCover services
If you have sustained a work-related injury or condition affecting your feet, ankles, or lower limbs, you may be eligible for treatment funded through WorkCover. WorkCover provides support to help you recover, manage pain, and safely return to work.
Referral requirements
To access WorkCover-funded podiatry care, you need a referral from your treating doctor (GP or specialist) confirming that your foot or lower limb condition is work-related. The referral should outline your injury and the required podiatry treatment.
Treatment approval
- WorkCover may require pre-approval for ongoing podiatry treatment, depending on the number of sessions, type of intervention, or complexity of your condition.
- Once approved, podiatry consultations and clinically necessary treatments—such as biomechanical assessments, orthotics, wound care, or rehabilitation exercises—are funded directly by WorkCover.
Ongoing care
Your podiatrist will work closely with your doctor, employer, and WorkCover case manager to ensure your treatment plan supports recovery, functional improvement, and a safe return to work. Regular progress reports may be submitted to maintain funding for continued care.
