NDIS services

If you are an NDIS participant, you may be eligible to receive funded podiatry support as part of your NDIS plan, depending on your individual needs and goals. Podiatry under the NDIS focuses on improving independence, mobility, function and prevention of secondary complications related to foot and lower limb conditions.

What NDIS can fund

NDIS funding may cover podiatry supports that are reasonable and necessary to help you achieve your goals, such as:
Funding is based on your individual support needs, functional goals and the outcome of your planning process with your NDIS planner or Local Area Coordinator.

Referral requirements

Unlike Medicare or WorkCover, you do not need a GP referral to access NDIS podiatry supports. However, having comprehensive clinical reports, assessments and functional goals from your podiatrist can help support your NDIS plan review or application. Your plan will specify the type and level of support funded, so it’s important to discuss your podiatry needs during your planning meeting.
